Social Events


A number of social events for participants will take place during the conference. You will have an opportunity to network and socialise with colleagues as well as discuss new research findings in a relaxed atmosphere.


Sunday 13th September, 19:30

Ice-breaker

Prior to the conference, on Sunday evening there will be an informal get-together at the ‘Landeshaus’ – the Schleswig-Holstein parliament - which is close to the conference venue. A finger food buffet will be provided in the restaurant ‘Asperge’ and you will have the opportunity to meet or catch up with other participants.  It will also be possible to receive your registration receipt, your name badge and a welcome pack at this opportunity in order to save time on the Monday morning. Please let us know in advance whether you are planning to attend (by ticking the appropriate ‘yes’ box on the online registration form).

The Ministry of Education and Women’s Issues of the State of Schleswig-Holstein (http://www.schleswig-holstein.de/MBF/EN/MBF__node.html)  has very generously offered to provide financial support for the conference ice-breaker in the Landeshaus on the Sunday evening (13th September) which means that participants will no longer be asked to make a financial contribution. We would like to sincerely thank the Ministry for their kind support.

Conference reception

All participants are most welcome to attend the conference cheese and wine reception; the conference reception is free of charge. It will take place after the poster presentations in the foyer of the Kieler Schloss. A detailed list of restaurants in the vicinity will be provided for after the reception. Please let us know in advance whether you are planning to attend the reception (by ticking the appropriate ‘yes’ box on the online registration form). Conference dinner

All participants are most welcome to attend the conference dinner which is also free of charge. It will take place at the Maritim Hotel which is near the conference venue. A warm and cold buffet including drinks will be provided. Please let us know in advance whether you are planning to attend (by ticking the appropriate ‘yes’ box on the online registration form).
